Sonic the Hedgehog 2‘s first trailer, otherwise known as a sick little treat tucked into this year Video Game Awards, is finally here – and it is, to put it mildly, a journey.
Although this year’s Game Awards offered a night of celebration and recognition for the titanium industry, Paramount also used it as an opportunity to release a new trailer for the sequel Jeff Fowler Sonic the Hedgehog. The new trailer reunites us with Sonic (Ben Schwartz), his good friend Tom (James Marsden) and Tom’s wife Maddie (Tika Sumpter) after their successful defeat by Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), who seems to have come up with some ways to bring it back to Earth.
As much as the trailer tries to emphasize the importance of Sonic’s friendship with people, Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) and Joints (Idris Elba) are real headliners here and it’s great to finally see an anthropomorphic hedgehog finally hanging out with some other animals walking and talking.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 arrives in theaters on April 8, 2022.
