It was only a few weeks before Switch players could get their hands on it Pokémon legend: Arceuwith. The next big entry in the series is the return of the clock to the Hisui region before it happened be known as Sinnohand assigns players area exploration explore pocket monsters in their natural habitats.

GameFreak i Nintendo gradual drop by drop information in the months after that Arceus’ the announcements focused mostly on game mechanics, but a promotion released in Japan puts its focus mostly on the player exploring Hisui. As easy as it is to joke that the game is basically the franchise’s answer The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the promo certainly relies on this as the player uses his Pokémon to travel through the water, gallop down hills, and even fly past volcanoes. It’s hard not to be amazed at the visual direction and how big the world seems in a way like the previous one games could not always transfer.

There was an open desire among the fans for Pokémon to change things in the main games for a long time, and what we know about Arceus it seems to have resolved at least some of these complaints so far. Instead of a turn-based fight, it’s an open-world action RPG in which players take tasks from the villagers, camp and make their own supplies. Even more interesting, A Pokémon could just just kill you this time if you’re not careful. Although it is unlikely that Nintendo will ever give its own version tailored to fans Nuzlocke challengewith, the extra tension that Arceus seemingly provides has some potential to push away players who might forget these creatures trying to snatch have no objections in defense.

No matter what Arceus serves as a modification or evolution of the formula, what it brings to the table, both played and narrative, will be of interest to fans. At the very least, it won’t be a bad way to spend the winter, especially if you’re indoors.

Pokémon legend: Arceus arrives on the Nintendo Switch on January 28th.
