What started in WandaVision, became bigger inside Loki, and really exploded inside Spider-Man he is now ready for his own the biggest big-screen moment. Multiverse is fully displayed Dr. Strange in the multiverse of madness, the next Marvel studio film scheduled for release on May 6, 2022. Legendary director Sam Raimi is this time led by the first teaser, who is also attached as a scene after the loan after No way home, is now officially online. It’s short, but full of really intriguing teasing, so let’s dive deep into it.
The trailer begins with a dialogue Spider-man: No way home. Wong tells Strange not to cast a spell. Strange telling Peter Parker how little they know about the multiverse. Slowly black turns to footage as the camera moves along what we believe is the floor in Kamar-Thai and a few candles come out.
Then we see Strange in the reflection of a broken clock. If you remember in the first movie, Strange has a large collection of watches so we guess this isn’t just one of his watches, but something that was broken in some kind of battle. He also wears a white shirt, probably before the wedding sequence of the film. Of course, the fracture pattern is also intended to remind us multiverse.
That picture is then told by Mordo, Strange’s former friend who became a villain played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, last seen in Dr. Strange loans acquire new powers. He says, “Your desecration of reality will not go unpunished.” We should think he is talking about events No way home, but that is not certain. There could be something in this movie. But more importantly, did Mordo return with the wizards? It seemed like he was going to break up on his own, although things may have changed throughout the Thanos incident. We don’t know what he was up to.
Strange walks from a snowy New York alley and looking down the street; although at first it seems to be our reality, the buildings look dilapidated and overlap. Has it reached a new dimension? Is this a Mirror Dimension? Something is wrong.
“That was the only way,” Strange says. But was it? If he thinks of No way home, as the trailer suggests, didn’t have to cast a spell for Peter Parker. He chose and did so very randomly. Anyway, Strange walk up the stairs of some version of Sanctum Sanctorum, which seems to have been abandoned and also flooded in and out. This does not seem like our reality. “I never thought any of this would happen,” he says.
There were a few quick cuts, starting with Strange reaching for a trademark window at the top of the Sanctum. Again, we believe this is an ordinary Sweird, but that more leathery material makes it look like it could be the evil Strange from the end of the trailer. Then follows Strange standing in the street and looking at what is probably Shuma-Gorat from change in the trailer, followed by a few short clips of Wanda’s hand ready to unleash a little power, then Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams) on wedding.
It’s weird at a wedding, but not like a groom. The bride Christine passes by him as does fellow surgeon Nicodemus West, played by Michael Stuhlbarg, and Strange seems to have lost his girlfriend after all. At least she’s still alive. What if …? showed what could have happened had it not been so. And it wasn’t good.
What follows are a few quick cuts including a raven (we have no idea about this) and a woman in a star jacket. This is almost certainly the American Chavez played by Xochitl Gomez. She often appears in this trailer, but is never directly mentioned. We think she plays a major role and here she is slowly making her way through what seems like Kamar-Taj.
Then there’s a quick shot of Wong in shackles fearing something And version of Dr. Strange with a headband (possible Defender Strange as discovered in this series of toys) falls through some portal. It should be noted that this is it the portal is star-shaped. It is possible that it has something to do with America, or it even created it.
And all this before the Marvel Studios logo, which is all broken, if you didn’t know what all this was teasing about.
We are now in some remote field, filled with trees with white flowers. Wanda Maximoff is here and the first thought is that this is where we saw her run away during the final titles WandaVision. However, this is far more open and expansive. Even the sheep in the background are a few shots. Is this the new reality that Wanda has created? Or did she just buy a bigger piece of land?
Strange arrives and Wanda says she was expecting him, with what her little accident when she enslaved hundreds of people in a small town. However, Strange is not here to talk about Westview. He is there to talk about multiverses and to tell her that “we ”needs Wanda’s help. Who is “we? “Are he and Wong? Someone else? He and America? It’s unclear. But Wanda turned to him with a look full of fear.
Moving from beautiful green field, And the door opens which looks like some kind of ship or submarine. It opens into a purple and pink world with a floating platform in the middle. In the center of the platform is a strong light holding a pole. Is this some kind of central multiverse energy source or something?
However, there are two women at the door and behind Strange. It seems that one American is Chavez, and the other is … vaguely. Most likely it’s Wanda, but she almost looks like Jane Foster Natalie Portman? It could too to be Christine too? Wanda makes the most sense from where the trailer was before, but Strange definitely has two female companions in this part of the adventure. The doors float in this area and are surrounded by all sorts of ruins, mostly from ancient buildings. This is a place of broken things that reminds us a bit of the place where Kang resides, and things are going to be destroyed, from the finale Loki.
That applies to Mordo, who is carrying some new dreadlocks, he says sorry Strange. Probably because of what he has to do for his mistakes. A cloud of smoke quickly crosses the yard at Kamar-Thai; Strange and Wong, now unattached, look at it with fear.
We see Wanda, back in full Purple Witch gear, sitting in a circle of candles. It is on a very geometric symbol that we do not recognize, but, in the sequence of montage, it is probably on Kamar-Taj.
Mordo continues to talk to Strange about a series of images involving him swinging a sword at a person who looks like Strange, even though his hands are tied. The navy blue outfit suggests that this could be the evil Strange from the end of the trailer.
This was followed by a series of coordinated explosions outside Kamar-Taj. There are a few characters, most of which cannot be distinguished in the trailer, but the big beastlike a character in lsprobably the minotaur wizard Rintrah, which also has his own toy.
This is followed by the wounded Wong watching up with purpose. In the next frame, Strange returned to New York Sanctum with a glass symbol shattered behind him and all his belongings dusty, unleashing some kind of magic that seems much more like Wanda’s magic than Strangen, but not the way she usually casts it.
Then, back to Kamar-Taj, Strange unleashes another spell that looks like two snakes are coming out of his hands. Behind him is America.
This then comes to Shuma-Gorath, a very evil, very rude Marvel villain, who is in New York and throws a bus down Spring Street. Strange intersects this with his magic, protecting America which is, again, behind him. How did she get there?
While all this was happening, Mordo said: “I hope you understand,” Mordo says. “The greatest threat to our universe … is you.” Strange and Mordo are up in Sanctum and looking at some sort of massive, smoky portal. And on “is you ”we see the“ evil ”Dr. Strange. “Things just got out of hand,” says this evil Strange, awith the wounded (some kind of scratch?) Strange squints his eyes in confusion.
Now, the obvious thought is that this is Strange Supreme from W.hat if …? but look …
The two of them are dressed differently. Strange Supreme has a large collar, with gold in her dresses. This one doesn’t. We know there are already several Dr. Strangeis in this movie so while this may be the same from the movie What if it could also probably be brand new.
Also, I’m not sure the smoke portal from the previous frame (above) and the Evil Strange footage (further up) agree. As you can see, the Sanctum window is behind Evil Strange, but here the window has been replaced by this portal. Unless it stands in the dimension in which it still exists. SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!
This then enters the title and release date, which means we will still have plenty of time to dissect Dr. Strange trailers in the coming months.
Dr. Strange in the multiverse of madness opens May 6, 2022.
