(Reuters) -Credit Suisse Group AG announced on Monday that its president Antonio Horta-Osorio had resigned following an investigation commissioned by the committee.
Switzerland’s second-largest bank has named Axel Lehmann as its new president, which will take effect immediately, the statement said.
In December, a preliminary investigation by Swiss credit (SIX 🙂 revealed that Horta-Osorio attended the Wimbledon tennis final in July during a visit to Britain when the COVID-19 rules required him to be quarantined.
“I regret that a number of my personal actions have led to difficulties for the bank and jeopardized my ability to represent the bank internally and externally,” Horta-Osorio said. “I therefore believe that my resignation is in the interest of the bank and its stakeholders at this crucial time.”
