It is rumored that the release date of Google Pixel Watch will be May 26

Rumors about Google’s upcoming Pixel smartwatch have been circulating for more than a year, and although we know some details about the product, the specific release date has not even been speculated.

That has changed today. Leaker Jon Prosser announced on Twitter that Google plans to launch the Pixel Watch on May 26, a date that is in line with the I / O developer conference.

Prosser said earlier that Google could reveal the watch along Pixel 6 in October, but warned that date was a moving target. He later corrected the timeline, claiming the clock was delayed until the first quarter of 2022. It now appears the device will arrive in the second quarter.

Although Google has not confirmed the release date – no less the existence of Pixel Watch –still, this latest leak should encourage Android users to wait for a real rival to Apple Watch because, as Prosser points out, this is “the first time we’ve seen a date set on a device behind the scenes”. Moreover, Google’s I / O 2022 conference, held May 18-20 last year, would be a logical launching platform given that Google has announced Wear OS 3, the most meaningful update to its watch OS in recent years.

We’ve been hearing for a long time about the smartwatch made by Google, and while Google has been shattering those rumors over the years, now might finally be the time. If the past leaks are correct, then we have already seen the device. Late last year, Prosser posted on his YouTube channel which he claims are official promotional photos. They show a watch similar to the one shown in the renderings from April – it has a circular design and the face of the watch is practically frameless, falling around the edges.

In terms of specifications, the wearable wearable device could have a Samsung Exynos chip and support Google Assistant, based on a report from 9to5Googlewho claims to have found the “PIXEL_EXPERIENCE_WATCH” feature tag inside a Google application. It could have been assumed that Google would turn to Qualcomm, but remember, Google has partnered with Samsung to help it fix its tragically failed smartwatch OS. We wouldn’t be surprised if this partnership involves using someone else’s hardware.

We don’t know how much the watch will cost, but newer ones Business Insider report, substantiated The Verge, claims that it will be more expensive than Fitbit and at the price that it will compete with the Apple Watch. And like Apple Watch, the Pixel Watch (if it’s called that) will need to be recharged daily.
