Back in 2019, Ryan Johnson came out Take out the knives, a pretty good mystery murder with Daniel Craig in the role of the charmingly strange detective Benoit Blanc and a number of murder suspects, including Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and the late Christopher Plummer in one of his last roles. Johnson’s film became a big critic and a hit at the box office with $ 311.4 million. With his Star Wars possession in a seemingly production purgatory in the foreseeable future, Johnson had time to work out a new case that Benoit would solve. Now, the expected sequel- the first of two, remember — it finally has a window to release.
Diversity released the news on Friday, claiming that Knives removed 2 it is expected to land by the end of 2022 on both Netflix and cinemas. Before publishing, release, it is believed the film will appear during the festival round at the end of the year, although it is currently unclear which. Given that the former was nominated for several awards, including Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars and Best Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes, it makes sense that Netflix will try to extend the sequel in hopes of bringing some awards. (Netflix will certainly be making an effort this year, so movies like Don’t look up and Tick, tick … Boom!)
Details on Knives removed 2 were extremely quiet. All that is known is that Craig is back as Blanc (maybe Not this accent, although?), and Johnson assembled a rather complex cast of Southern Detectives to investigate and establish a relationship with him. The cast currently includes heavy attackers such as Jessica Henwick, Kathryn Hahn, Ethan Hawke, Dave Bautista and Janelle Monae. Production of the film began in June and ended in September.
With the window for late 2022 now unveiled, we hope to get more information and a trailer, on Knives removed 2 Soon.
