S.Korea Factory production jumped in November, exceeding Reuters expectations

SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea’s factory production in November far exceeded expectations of strong export orders for cars and chips, government data showed on Thursday.

Industrial production rose 5.1 percent seasonally last month from October, beating average gains of 2.5 percent according to a Reuters survey as car production rose 11.3 percent.

Year-on-year, production jumped 5.9%, also surpassing the 3.2% growth forecast in the survey.
