The XPG concept mouse has an SSD so you can store your games in it


Have you ever looked at your mouse and thought “it’s okay, but it’s a big waste of space?” The gaming accessories company XPG obviously is, because it’s simple discovered concept mouse for CES 2022 with built-in fast SSD loaded inside, Digital trends reported.

The XPG Vault Gaming Mouse is a wired USB-C mouse that the company calls a “library of games in the palm of your hand.” The prototype model supports up to 1TB of memory that can run at a surprisingly fast 985 MB / s. Storage can be controlled by XPG’s gaming software application. Gaming Launcher Software … promises to make your game libraries affordable and [add] higher level of game integration with XPG Prime Software Ecosystem, ”say the company.

It looks like a fairly normal mouse, although it would need a fairly sturdy USB-C cable to support such speeds. This isn’t the worst idea we’ve heard, as it gives you a bit of high-speed storage while releasing a USB slot that would otherwise take up a wired mouse. XPG did not mention the DPI mouse or any other game specifications.

Mice with built-in USB memory they are not unheard of, although we haven’t seen anything significant lately. Wild gadgets however, they often appear at CES, helping companies attract attention and publicity. In addition to the prototype mouse, XPG also unveiled some products that could hit the market next year, including PCIe Gen5X SSDs, DDR5 DRAM and XPG Wired / Wireless Alpha gaming mouse.
