Weber’s line of smart grills for 2022 includes gas and pellet options

Barbecue season will be here before you know it, so one of the biggest names in backyard cooking is advising for spring. Today, Weber announced its line of smart grills for 2022 with options for chefs who prefer gas or pellet options. Regardless of the fuel source, all new models preferred here are equipped Weber Connect with WiFi enabled. With it, you can control and monitor your barbecue from your phone, following the cooking process while working on side dishes or relaxing with guests.

Weber Connect was first available at Smart barbecue hub, but his big debut came in the first generation SmokeFire pellet grills. The technology not only offers recipes, but also guides you through the entire cooking process on a step-by-step basis, from how you prepare meat to the time of overturning and the rest time before cutting. In an attempt to outsmart the competition, the app also offers estimated readiness times so don’t be left guessing when those chests will finally reach 205 degrees Fahrenheit. In 2021, the company brought technology to its Genesis line gas grills, offering the same convenience as SmokeFire with a more commonly used fuel source – plus the ability to monitor the level in the propane tank.

For 2022, Weber goes a step further than the benefits with a range of new Genesis gas grills and a new version of SmokeFire. First, the Genesis line of smart grills still features Weber Connect on top of the PureBlu high heat burner, a baking zone, a side table, an expandable top cooking rack and “Nightvision”. As the name implies, the last item allows you to see the baking surface after dark, with LEDs that detect movement and can illuminate the entire cooking area when you open the lid – including the side tables / burner. The lights are on the back of the handle, with the power button on the outside that turns them off completely. Weber says the new Genesis models will be available in three- and four-burner options, as well as models with porcelain enamel or stainless steel finishes.

For this year’s SmokeFire pellet grill, Weber goes black. Named the Stealth Edition, the black-on-black color scheme removes silver accents from the original along the sides of the lid, side shelves and handles. Weber Connect is still on board, it helps you in everything from baking at high temperatures to light and slow smoking. The overall design is the same, except for the addition of interior light for better visibility. As someone who used the SmokeFire grill before sunrise and after dark, some built-in lighting is a welcome change.

In addition to barbecues, Weber also introduces new accessories called Weber Crafted. The tool collection includes a double-sided grilling rack, a flat-top rack, a baking stone (for pizza, etc.), a baking basket, a wok / steamer combination and baking skewers. Special grills and inserts allow you to replace the accessories on the grill with charcoal, gas or pellets. The company explains that these accessories allow you to steam, bake, roast and more, and you can do this on the grill instead of going inside. In addition, the new Genesis grills have a compartment and hooks for storing new goods. No word on prices yet, but each item will be sold separately when it arrives this spring.

The new Genesis models and Stealth Edition SmokeFire will also go on sale this spring. The former will range from $ 1,049 to $ 2,149 while the latter is $ 1,599.
